CLUB PROFILE

HISTORY

North Shore Soccer Club was formed in 1994. Noel Crawford was the first president. He had a small committee behind him.
The founding committee consisted of Amanda Harris, Ellen McCallum, Richard McCallum, Bob Blohberger and Neil Shackleford. The Club first fielded teams in 1995 and initially played at the Pacific Paradise State School grounds and received great support from the school. The Club subsequently moved to their current fields at Nojoor Road Near Twin Waters Resort.

The Club was affiliated to Sunshine Coast Churches Soccer Association in its early years. The North Shore Club later applied for affiliation with the Sunshine Coast Soccer Federation and joined the Federation for the 2001 season. Noel Crawford has held various positions on the Club committee for over 10 years and is a life member.
In February 2002 the soccer fields were officially named the “Corbin Shackleford Memorial Park” in memory of Corbin Noel Shackleford. Corbin was the grandson of Noel Crawford. Corbin was only 10 years old when he died. Corbin died tragically after a shocking collision between his bicycle and a car. Corbin was a bright spirited boy who loved the game of soccer and enjoyed playing the world game. Corbin was a student of Pacific Paradise State School. Corbin had shown great potential as a junior player during his years at the Club.

CLUB PHILOSOPHY

Our aim is to provide a “User Friendly” family atmosphere for our children to improve and develop their skills and techniques.
Remember it is better to be a GOOD SPORT than to be good at sport!
The three key areas of team success are player participation, fairness and sportsmanship.

Our committee is very enthusiastic and dedicated to providing facilities and support for our children and their families to make this a great club to be involved with. With the continued support of our local community we will continue to grow.
